How I get sharp corners masking in Photoshop.

If you've ever used Photoshop, you know that it can be time consuming — especially when it comes to making selections!

In this video, I'll show you my technique for easily masking irregular objects and sharp corners to get clean photo selections. Let me know what you think of this trick (or if you have a preferred technique of your own) in the comments below :)

hey what's up welcome to productivity shop at night i usually don't film videos at night but i'm working on putting my face and a thumbnail for one of the videos and i wanted to show you something cool which is how to get a sharp edge when you're masking in photoshop so i'm going to go ahead and go to sidecar in system preferences because i'm using an ipad if you don't have an ipad no worries you can use a wacom tablet or just a mouse to do this technique so i have my photoshop screen here and i'm going to use size up to throw it down to the ipad so i love this setup because it's like it's it's your hand here and then you can have your your hand here so it's kind of like having a wacom screen but it's on the ipad but here's the trick i'm going to go ahead and do this area here where my ear is and then also the neck here so what it would usually do is make the pen really small and just like squiggle up in there and try to get these sharp edges but something i learned over the years which comes in handy what you're going to do is you're going to pick one of the edges to just go off on so like boom so i'm cutting into the skin like that and my main focus is going to be i'm not doing a good job but i think you get the point my main focus is going to be this one edge and then after i cut into the part of the silhouette or silo that i that i actually want to keep i'll just do x and then i'll draw back over and so i can get that nice sharp edge right here let me try to do a little bit more so i'll go swoop like this so i'll really get that ear and then i'll do x and then put back in my unshaven beard okay so that looks a little dramatic but i think you get my point i'm gonna go ahead and do it for the neck too so i'm just gonna do i'm just gonna do this and do shift and go up and then i'm going to just draw back in the part that i want pretty cool huh and you can correct it as needed but it'll give you the sharpest corner possible if you have any questions or any other photoshop tips for me uh feel free to email me at hello with theproductivityshop.co or join the productivity shop slack channel thanks for watching have a good night maybe i'll do this more often hey what's up welcome to productivity shop at night i usually don't film videos at night [ __ ] the fan's running so let's check it out oh don't mind this i was looking for the tick tock rope to be dramatic for one of my friends wink wink just kidding if i leave that in okay
