How to Use a Script to Easily Fill Out the COVID-19 Vaccine Signup Form in New York City (& more?)

How to Use a Script to Easily Fill Out the COVID-19 Vaccine Form

After recently becoming eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, I realized how time consuming the registration process is. Not only is the form long, but New York's form requires you to re-input your information every time you attempt to schedule an appointment.

To make things easier for myself (and hopefully for you, too) I wrote an AppleScript to quickly fill out this form as many times as I need. In this video, I'll walk you through how to set up the script and use it in your own vaccine search!

NOTE: It's important to mention that my script was specifically written for New York's vaccine locator form. If you live outside of New York but are also experiencing similar issues, please shoot me a message at [EMAIL OR OTHER CONTACT LOCATION], and I will try to tweak the script for you :)

Hey what's up? So this is a video kind of out of the norm, but essentially people 30 years and older which is, which I fall into to that category are now eligible for the vaccine, in New York City, you can schedule an appointment, but you have to fill out all of the information first, once you, you have, to fill out your information and then it'll tell you if there's actually an available appointment or not, so you have to fill out the form each time, every time, you check. So I made an AppleScript that I'm going to post, so that way if you want to use the script to fill out your information, you can, as well, a lot of you watching who might not be in New York City, if it's the same case, and have to fill out the information, send me some screenshots, and I can help write a script for you, or adjust it for you, as much as I can. A quick insert, you will need to install cliclick, I have another video on that, it's so the computer can click on stuff, um there's some setup instructions in another video, um the link is here, um okay back to the video. All right, I'll just, let's go ahead and get to it. So I'm going to go to prodshop.co/vaccineentryscript, okay, so I just put it there as a text file, so you wouldn't worry about downloading your script, or have something on your computer. I'm going to go ahead and copy everything, and I'm going to open Script Editor, I'll just call it vaccine-entry. Sorry for the noise, they're doing construction. Okay so I'm going to go to the top of the script, and the first thing you'll want to do is insert your date of birth, in between these quotes here. Insert your zip code, and insert your name. Next, this is going to be kind of tedious, um there are other way, faster ways to do it, but I want to do this to [reach] the most broad audience. If you know how to do this on a PC, let me know, I just know how to do it on a Mac. Anyway, okay, so I'm going to go ahead and open up Schedule Appointment, I'm going to open up a couple okay. So what you need to do is put your window in one spot, and then we're going to remap each of the coordinates. Now there are faster ways to do this, but I want to do a broad audience, so let's just get to it. There's not too many, this will take a minute, but if you're going to be checking every day, and everything, this will save time. Okay so I'm going to go ahead and do shift command 4, like I'm doing a screen shot, and you can see the numbers, there those are the coordinates of where your cursor is at the moment. So I'm going to go through, in each step change the coordinates to wherever it specifically is on your computer. So, okay I'm first dose, if your second dose you would hover over that, or any of, yeah, so this is 486, 479/392. So 479, 392. Okay, now I'm going to go ahead and click, and then you would select your eligibility box, whatever that might be. I'm over 30 so I'm going to go ahead and do shift command 4, so it says 400, 291. and it'll page down automatically, it's in the script, so go all the way to the bottom. I'm going to hover over my answer for my employee of New York, if you are cool, shift command 4, 536, 540, 1125. 540, one one two five. Okay I'm going to hover over the date of birth field, 416, 1205. I'm going to hover over the Zip Code 720, 1202 the last year, so no question, um yes, 422, 1329 Go ahead and click on it to advance to the next screen and then I'm gonna hover over the next button which is one one five five thirteen, ninety, Okay so I'm gonna hover over the name which will be 443,97, I'm gonna hover over the certification box, three nine nine four four, one and then lastly 416 1084, for the robot, and then after that you'll have to hover you have to enter the information manually because I think you can get an appointment or not okay so let's go ahead and try it out. Okay so I'm on this screen, and then I'll go to Script Editor, and do command r, now if it's if it freaks out, or something goes wrong click, on the stop button here okay so I'm going to go ahead and do command r. and it did not work, 493,99, so it didn't work so I'm going to do right over the text 493,92. At the beginning of the script, in the application, here, put the name of the browser that you're using. If you have any questions email me, or let me know in the comments, and I can help out. Okay, so let's try it out, Boom, Yep, Down It's kind of slow, but I put a big delay, Okay so it worked, I'll go ahead and verify, and then you can go to the next step. Um so hopefully this helps, I just wanted to share, I kind of felt bad keeping it to myself, if you have another state, or some or city, let me know and I'll do my best to write a script for it, if you need. Um, and also yeah um, just wishing well to everybody out there, and yeah okay so let me know if you have any questions, you can email me at hello@theproductivityshop.co, you can write a comment below and I'll do my best to respond right away, or you can join the Productivity Shop Slack Channel, I'll try to help as much as I can, um probably, yeah I'll leave it at that. Thanks for watching.
